Senior Machine Learning Research Scientist

Arc Institute seeks an experienced ML scientist to build advanced models predicting cellular responses to perturbations as part of their Virtual Cell Initiative. The role involves collaborating with biologists and engineers, publishing research findings, and ensuring models remain state-of-the-art in computational biology.

Key Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Machine Learning, or related field
• Minimum 3+ years post-PhD experience building ML models for large datasets
• Strong research background with contributions to machine learning conferences like NeurIPS, ICLR, or ICML
• Proficiency in PyTorch and proven publication record
• Demonstrated ability collaborating with domain experts and ML engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Large-scale model training and scaling experience
• Strong software engineering background with research-to-production delivery
• Experience with biological datasets (single-cell genomics, sequences, bioimaging)
• Contributions to predictive cell state modeling
