Job Description
The role supports Lilly Genetic Medicine's mission to develop innovative genetic therapies. The successful candidate will bridge computational genomics and RNA biology to generate insights driving therapeutic programs forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze deep sequencing datasets (RNA-seq, ribosome profiling, CLIP-seq, SHAPE-seq) investigating mRNA processing, stability, localization, translation, and decay
- Develop and implement computational pipelines for complex RNA sequencing data
- Interpret results within RNA biology and therapeutic contexts
- Collaborate with experimental and molecular biologists on study design and validation
- Present findings to cross-functional teams
- Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and patent applications
- Stay current with emerging RNA biology methodologies
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in mRNA processing and RNA biology
- Hands-on transcriptome profiling and RNA-seq analysis experience
- Programming proficiency (Python, R, or similar)
- Bioinformatics tools and genomic database knowledge
- Cloud computing and high-performance computing experience
- Machine learning applications to genomic data
- Statistical modeling and experimental design skills
- Drug discovery and development knowledge
- Peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals
