Staff Data Scientist, Graph ML

Valo Health seeks a Staff Data Scientist to develop and deploy graph ML solutions to synthesize and extract novel insights from their computational platform. The role focuses on advancing drug discovery through network analytics and biological hypothesis generation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement graph machine learning approaches for target discovery
• Prototype enhancements to Valo's graph platform
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate methodologies robustly
• Communicate technical approaches and findings to cross-functional stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews and champion data science best practices

Requirements

• MS or PhD in quantitative field with ML and graph analytics expertise
• Healthcare, molecular biology, or computational biology background
• Advanced knowledge of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) for link prediction and node classification
• Experience with knowledge graphs and graph databases
• Python proficiency and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch)
• Data science best practices expertise, large-scale data analytics (Spark/Dask), cloud environments (AWS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Traditional drug discovery process experience
• Domain expertise in neuroscience, immunology, or cardio-metabolic biology
• Statistical genetics, multi-omics, or real-world evidence knowledge
