Senior Data Scientist

Valo Health seeks a data scientist to develop computational chemistry models and platform tooling for their drug discovery platform. The role involves collaborating with data science, ML, and medicinal chemistry teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create solutions for preclinical discovery, addressing ADME modeling, toxicity prediction, and generative chemistry
• Build and implement data science tools and workflows for hit identification through lead optimization
• Construct dashboards for model performance monitoring and provenance tracking
• Apply data science best practices including statistical validation and model lifecycle management

Requirements

• PhD in Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field with 1-2 years of industry experience
• Proficiency with data science languages (R, pandas), engineering practices (git, CI/CD), DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and orchestration platforms (Prefect, Airflow)
• Strong analytical and communication skills; experience with Jupyter Notebooks and technical presentations
• Background building ML models and workflows for drug discovery
