Senior Machine Learning Engineer (Computational Chemistry Platform)

Valo Health seeks an experienced ML engineer to design and implement novel AI solutions to advance computationally accelerated drug development programs. The role involves developing capabilities for the Opal platform supporting active drug discovery initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance integrated AI/ML tool codebases
• Collaborate with data scientists, researchers, and domain experts on complex data problems
• Build solutions for preclinical discovery, including ADME modeling, toxicity prediction, and generative chemistry

Requirements

• PhD (or Master's with experience) in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• 2+ years applying modern ML/AI techniques to real-world problems with business impact
• Strong Python proficiency and modern ML framework experience (PyTorch, Hugging Face)
• Software engineering best practices and ability to write clean, reusable code
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Project management ability to balance exploratory research with short-term delivery
