Position Summary: If you are motivated by elegantly solving hard problems, working on the latest technologies and seeing your contributions make a difference then join Ribbon Research Labs (RRL)! The main focus is building innovative network applications with an emphasis on analytics, AI/ML and automation. The internship program provides a unique opportunity for students to develop descriptive, predictive and prescriptive applications resolving network problems and business opportunities utilizing real-world data sets from a number of technologies (e.g. LTE/5G mobile, IP transport networks, voice & video systems). The ideal candidate will have data science coursework and/or equivalent experience as well as basic understanding of networking. Essential Responsibilities: · Transform ideas into data-driven solutions by working through all phases of software development or model lifecycle · Evaluate application requirements to explore, evaluate, recommend, and implement analytical and ML models utilizing latest tools · Build, demonstrate, and potentially deploy concept implementations leveraging customer data sets, open-source technologies, optimized hardware and Ribbon ecosystem Experience and Skills: · Studying in Computer Science, Data Science, or related. Course work in networking a plus · Experience working through all data phases such as exploration, preparation, engineering, modeling, and closed-loop automation · Experience training, testing and deploying AI/ML algorithms using Python · Exposure to xNN architectures, NLP/generative AI concepts, and agentic app development · Ability to develop, debug and deliver applications in Python · Strong understanding of databases (schemas, SQL, structured and semi-structured) · Hands on experience in Linux environments as power user; Cloud technologies, docker/Kubernetes a plus · Ability to independently decompose larger problems and progressively work a solution to completion · Ability to quickly pickup new tools and technologies to assist in rapid prototypes and solutions · Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results · Very strong ability to grasp and apply new information quickly · Self-motivated to work problems to logical conclusions · Excellent oral and written communication skills The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position in all geographic locations is $ - $ annually. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills and education. The compensation package also includes eligibility for an incentive plan and comprehensive benefits, subject to applicable requirements.
