Director, Computational Biology (Neuroscience)

Recursion seeks a Director to lead their neuroscience computational biology team and guide computational strategy for target selection, patient connectivity, and drug development decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team of computational biologists and data scientists
• Identify datasets for target prioritization
• Synthesize diverse biological data to evaluate drug discovery hypotheses
• Collaborate cross-functionally with data science and ML teams

Requirements

• PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, neuroscience, or related field with 6+ years biotech/pharma experience, OR MS with 8+ years experience
• Team management experience in matrixed environments with focus on career development
• Proficiency analyzing high-dimensional biological data (images, proteomics, transcriptomics, GWAS)
• Strong Python skills and software development practices
• Exceptional data visualization and presentation abilities
• Track record advancing early-stage drug discovery programs
