Senior Scientist II, Computational Biology position at AbbVie in Worcester, MA, focusing on integrating statistical and computational methods into multimodal data workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate statistical and computational methods into multimodal data workflows (imaging, spatial omics)
  • Develop scalable pipelines for hypothesis testing, causal inference, and predictive modeling
  • Lead experimental design and statistical planning, including power calculations and randomization
  • Collaborate with discovery scientists, translational researchers, and bioinformaticians
  • Ensure statistical rigor supporting go/no-go decisions and milestone reviews
  • Mentor junior scientists and foster collaborative research environments

Requirements

  • Degree in Biophysics, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering, Pharmacology or related field
  • 12+ years (BS), 10+ years (MS), or 4+ years (PhD) experience in computational biology and life science research
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on computational analysis and statistics work
  • Strong biological domain knowledge bridging computational and experimental perspectives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience with imaging technologies and functional assays for complex in vitro models
  • Proven record of developing or deploying statistical or AI/ML tools
  • Experience with 3D tissue models and organoid research

Work Arrangement: On-site position requiring Tuesday-Thursday office presence; ~5% travel.
