Job Description
CRISPR Therapeutics seeks a computational biology scientist to advance gene-editing therapies. The company has evolved from a research stage to one with a diverse portfolio of product candidates across a broad range of disease areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead computational biology activities in drug development
- Generate and test hypotheses using analytical, statistical, and machine learning methods
- Characterize off-target gene editing for safety assessment
- Develop ML/AI tools to engineer and optimize CRISPR modalities
- Maintain reproducible computational pipelines for genomic analysis
- Author research reports supporting regulatory filings
- Present findings to leadership and stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, machine learning, or related field
- 2+ years characterizing off-target editing or optimizing gene-editing
- Proficiency developing pipelines analyzing high-throughput DNA sequencing data
- Python proficiency (essential)
- Strong written/presentation skills and scientific rigor
Preferred Qualifications
- Linux/cloud environment expertise (AWS)
- Machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn)
- Experience with protein prediction tools and biomolecular modeling
- Knowledge of sequencing platforms and NGS methods
- Regulatory filing documentation experience
