Job Description
Bayer's Pharmaceuticals division seeks a Principal Scientist in Computational Biology to evaluate therapeutic hypotheses through integration and quantitative analyses of internal and external multi-omics data sources in oncology drug discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Contextualize molecular evidence supporting therapeutic hypotheses using multi-omics data (DNA, RNA, CRISPR, ChIP-seq, methylation, proteomics)
- Design and interpret complex quantitative analyses for precision drug development
- Contribute to product team scientific strategy and critical path objectives
- Deliver biological insights to inform stage-gate decisions and portfolio prioritization
- Develop and implement best practices for quantitative analyses and data visualization
- Build cross-functional relationships across pharma R&D
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Life Sciences (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, Genetics, or related field) with strong computational focus
- Demonstrated experience analyzing DNA-seq, RNA-seq, proteomics, or imaging datasets
- Proficiency in R or Python
- Peer-reviewed publications in computational biology
- Expert-level quantitative analysis capabilities
- Strategic guidance experience in pharma or data science
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years industry experience in drug development or biotech roles applying multi-omics analyses
