Job Description

Personalis develops advanced genomics solutions for precision oncology. This role focuses on developing the NeXT Personal platform — an ultra-sensitive, tumor-informed, WGS-based liquid biopsy assay for detecting minimal residual disease and cancer recurrence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cell-free DNA platforms, particularly the NeXT Personal MRD liquid biopsy system
  • Conduct cross-functional scientific projects evaluating product feasibility and clinical advantages
  • Analyze large genomics datasets using novel methodologies
  • Translate research findings into production-ready products
  • Publish findings and present at industry conferences

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in bioinformatics, genomics, or related discipline
  • Extensive cancer genomics experience
  • Proficiency with somatic mutation detection and filtering
  • Hands-on cancer liquid biopsy analysis experience
  • Programming competency in Python, R, or similar languages
  • Demonstrated ability designing experimental approaches for complex projects
  • Track record publishing and presenting scientific results

Salary: $155,000 - $190,000. Hybrid (Mon/Tue onsite).
