Job Description

Amgen seeks a Principal Scientist in Computational Biology & Translational AI focused on developing AI-enabled analytical systems connecting preclinical and clinical data across oncology programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pan-asset forward and reverse translational analyses integrating multiple data types to generate mechanistic insights
  • Design generative and agentic AI systems for hypothesis generation and evidence synthesis
  • Develop multi-agent workflows integrating omics, imaging, pathology, and clinical data
  • Build reproducible translational analysis pipelines with AI integration
  • Partner with biology, pathology, and clinical teams to contextualize translational signals
  • Communicate findings to clinical and scientific stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications (one of)

  • PhD/PharmD/MD + 2 years computational biology experience
  • Master's + 5 years experience
  • Bachelor's + 7 years experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, or related field with biology foundation
  • Demonstrated expertise in translational science linking molecular mechanisms to clinical outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with generative or agentic AI systems
  • Multi-modal data integration experience
  • Strong programming in R and/or Python
  • Knowledge of clinical biomarker platforms

Salary: $167,413 - $226,501 annually
