Job Description
Boehringer Ingelheim seeks a Senior Principal Scientist to generate in silico evidence packages supporting the progression of novel therapeutic candidates through critical development milestones. The role focuses on bioinformatics project leadership, leveraging omics technologies and machine learning for drug discovery in autoimmune and dermatological indications.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive in silico evidence generation for drug candidates
- Lead bioinformatics projects focused on mechanisms of action
- Apply computational and AI techniques to biological datasets
- Collaborate with immunology and experimental biology teams
- Contribute to clinical biomarker discovery and safety assessments
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Immunology, or related field
- 7+ years post-doctoral/industry experience in drug discovery
- Expertise in large-scale biological data analysis (RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics)
- Machine learning and AI proficiency
- Strong immunology background, particularly dermatology/rheumatology
- US work authorization required
Preferred Qualifications
- Clinical biomarker discovery experience
- Knowledge of regulatory drug development requirements
- Prior dermatology/rheumatology research background
Salary: $170,000 - $269,000
