Project: The CRC Puzzle — A Multi-Omics Internship in Cancer Data Science

This internship focuses on analyzing a large colorectal cancer (CRC) dataset with approximately 1,800 samples. You will work to uncover the molecular patterns that distinguish different tumor types using RNA-seq, mutation, and copy number data across patient samples, treatment phases, and metastatic sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply molecular classification frameworks (CMS, CRIS, CIN70) to RNA-seq data
• Integrate genomic alterations into multi-omics tumor analysis
• Perform clustering to identify tumor subgroups
• Compare molecular patterns across primary/metastatic and pre/post-treatment samples
• Validate findings using external datasets such as TCGA

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Master's program at a Dutch university (Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences, or related)
• Internship must be mandatory for degree completion
• Minimum 6-month availability
• Proficiency in R and/or Python
• Understanding of statistical methods and clustering
• Interest in oncology and translational research
• Familiarity with transcriptomics preferred
