AI/ML Engineer - Vaccine Research

Pfizer seeks an AI/ML Engineer for Vaccine Research to play a strategic role at the intersection of artificial intelligence, vaccinology, and translational science. Embedded within Vaccines R&D, you will help define how advanced AI methods are applied to unlock new biological insights and accelerate next-generation vaccine innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI systems that inform vaccine discovery and development decisions
• Lead AI initiatives spanning antigen discovery, experimental design, translational modeling, and clinical trial simulation
• Apply generative and foundation models to protein and antigen engineering
• Architect reliable ML pipelines using modern MLOps practices across cloud and HPC environments
• Integrate multimodal datasets (omics, immunological data, clinical and real-world evidence)
• Mentor scientists and engineers, foster AI-enabled experimentation culture
• Publish and present at leading scientific conferences

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, ML, Computational Biology, AI, or related discipline, OR Master's with 2+ years applied AI/ML experience in life sciences
• Working knowledge of vaccine R&D workflows
• Expertise in foundation models, predictive modeling, generative AI, and ML system design
• Strong Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
• Experience scaling models in cloud and/or HPC environments
• Experience collaborating with experimental scientists and clinicians

Salary: $106,000 - $176,600 annually
