Job Description

About This Role:

As a Sr. Scientist in Biomarker Discovery, you will play a pivotal role in advancing immunology therapeutics within our organization. Working with the WCH team, you will lead and execute cutting-edge biomarker research across non-clinical and clinical stages. Your expertise will be crucial in generating high-quality biomarker data from non-human primate and human samples, focusing on mechanism of action, target engagement, and immune pathway modulation. This position requires a strong hands-on approach to experimental work, particularly in flow cytometry-based assays, while collaborating closely with clinical and translational partners. Your contributions will be essential in bridging immune biology with clinical development, providing decision-enabling insights that drive clinical strategies and therapeutic advancements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and execute clinical and translational biomarker research to establish mechanism of action, target engagement, and immune pathway modulation for clinical-stage immunology therapeutics.

  • Independently design, perform, analyze, and interpret experiments using primary human samples to generate robust, decision-enabling biomarker data.

  • Develop, optimize, and own multiparameter flow cytometry–based clinical biomarker assays, including immune phenotyping, receptor occupancy, and pharmacodynamic readouts.

  • Support assay qualification, method transfer to CROs, and longitudinal clinical biomarker data review, ensuring assay robustness and interpretability.

  • Communicate biomarker insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholders to influence clinical strategy, study interpretation, development decision, and scientific narrative.

Who You Are:

You are an innovative thinker with a passion for immunology and biomarker research. Your meticulous attention to detail and analytical mindset enables you to design and interpret complex experiments. You thrive in collaborative environments, where your ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to various stakeholders makes you an invaluable team member. Your dedication to advancing clinical-stage therapeutics is driven by a desire to impact patient care positively.

Required Skills:

  • PhD in Immunology or related biomedical science field (Bachelors or Masters with additional directly relevant experience may be considered).

  • 2+ years of relevant industry or translational research experience supporting clinical-stage immunology programs (6+ years with MS, 8+ years with BS).

  • Expertise in flow cytometry based assays and biomarker development.

  • Strong analytical and experimental skills in immunology research.

  • Excellent communication skills to convey scientific insights effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in assay qualification and method transfer to CROs.

  • Proficiency in immune phenotyping, receptor occupancy, and pharmacodynamic readouts.

  • Familiarity with clinical biomarker data review and interpretation.

Job Level: Management
