Principal Scientist, Computational-Immunology Discovery
Job Description
We are searching for the best talent for a Principal Scientist, Computational-Immunology Discovery, to be in Spring House, PA, La Jolla, CA or Cambridge, MA. This role is on the Immune Pathway Discovery (IPD) team which is part of Immunology Discovery in the Immunology Therapeutic Area.
IPD is responsible for identifying the next wave of transformational therapeutic pathways and applying human 'omics data to advance our Discovery portfolio. We analyze and interpret high-dimensional molecular 'omics data to identify new therapeutic pathways, build disease rationales, and identify patient stratification approaches. IPD supports Discovery projects from inception, through preclinical testing, and up to the transition to clinical trials.
This is an individual contributor role focused on supporting key projects and initiatives with computational analysis. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in bioinformatics and an established track record of using bioinformatics to drive business impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently build, align, and execute technical plans to achieve objectives across multiple programs.
- Timely delivery of hands-on data analysis, visualization, and interpretation for Discovery portfolio decision-making.
- Substantially impact Discovery programs through direct technical execution and indirect contribution as a member of Discovery project teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive computational insights for Discovery programs.
Requirements
- PhD in a field relevant to bioinformatics including, but not limited to, Computational Biology, Immunology, Biostatistics, or Computer Science.
- 4+ years work experience using computational biology to discover biological insights from molecular data in immunology or an immunology-related field.
- Deep technical expertise analyzing 'omics data, including bulk and single cell RNA-seq.
- Fluent in R and/or Python. Cloud computing experience is a plus.
- A proven ability to communicate and collaborate across disciplines.
- Exceptional scientific rigor and attention to detail.
- Agentic AI and AI-assisted coding experience in an industry setting, or a strong motivation to learn.
Preferred
- Background in inflammatory diseases; wet lab experience is a plus.
- Motivation to shape the technical direction of Immune Pathway Discovery by piloting new approaches and demonstrating their potential impact.
- Expertise in machine learning, data management, spatial transcriptomics, or network biology.
- Ability to build and leverage a strong scientific network to drive portfolio impact.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $115,000 to $227,000. This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program. #LI-Hybrid
