Exciting Opportunity at MSK:The Vickers Lab at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking an Assistant Research Biostatistician to join our highly productive and collaborative research team. Led by Dr. Andrew Vickers, a globally recognized cancer biostatistician, the lab has driven numerous methodological and clinical advances, including decision curve analysis, clinically integrated randomized trials, and the widely used prostate cancer test, the 4Kscore.

Dr. Vickers collaborates extensively across MSK and leads several large international research initiatives. The team is known for its high-impact work and strong commitment to scientific excellence. Current projects emphasize machine learning applied to pathology imaging, requiring advanced analytical and programming capabilities.

Role Overview:

  • Perform statistical analyses to support clinical and methodological research studies

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across MSK and external international partners

  • Apply and develop machine learning approaches, particularly for pathology image analysis

  • Write and maintain clean, reproducible code for complex datasets

  • Contribute to study design, data interpretation, and the preparation of manuscripts and presentations

  • Support ongoing large-scale research initiatives and ensure high-quality data outputs

  • Participate in continuous learning and development in biostatistics and analytical methods

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in BiostatisticsORBachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Statistics, Public Health, Computer Science, Epidemiology) with a willingness to pursue additional training in biostatistics

  • Prior experience with coding required; proficiency inRstrongly preferred
