Senior Computational Biologist
Job Description
Gordian Biotechnology seeks a Senior Computational Biologist to analyze single-cell transcriptomic perturbation screens and translate findings into biological conclusions for cardio-renal-metabolic disease therapeutics. The role involves developing analytical approaches, partnering with disease experts, integrating public genomics data, and establishing validation criteria to improve screening efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze single-cell transcriptomic perturbation screening data
- Translate computational findings into biological conclusions for cardio-renal-metabolic disease
- Develop novel analytical approaches for perturbation screen analysis
- Partner with disease biology experts and experimental teams
- Integrate public genomics datasets to contextualize internal findings
- Establish validation criteria to improve screening efficiency
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related quantitative field
- 2+ years hands-on single-cell transcriptomic analysis experience
- At least one peer-reviewed publication or preprint with major contribution
- Proficiency in Python and R (Scanpy, Seurat)
- Experience with NGS workflows and high-performance computing (AWS, GCP)
- Strong statistical foundations and cross-functional communication skills
