Member of Computational Team

We're Exai Bio — an R&D-stage startup developing next-generation, AI-powered cancer detection assays. Our platform integrates proprietary deep learning AI modeling with unique, large-scale cell-free DNA and RNA (oncRNA) datasets to enable earlier, more accurate cancer detection. We operate with a "small team, broad impact" philosophy. We are expanding our Computational team and seek versatile professionals with expertise in at least one of three domains and the capacity to grow into the others.

The Domains We Navigate

• Machine Learning — design, optimize and validate deep-learning models for cancer detection using large-scale, high-dimensional biological data; translate biological insights into modeling strategies; support model interpretability, robustness, and validation.
• Bioinformatics — develop and validate bioinformatics methods to identify biological signals and turn them into features for cancer-detection models; statistical/computational analyses for QC and biomarker discovery; contribute to assay development, study design and data-driven decisions.
• Software Engineering — apply best practices for reproducible, efficient scientific discovery; build tools/services for experiment tracking, reproducibility and QC; software validation and documentation in research or regulated diagnostic contexts.

Who You Are

• Proven ability to drive end-to-end development on major projects.
• Strong experience in Python (primary), C/C++, Rust, R.
• 2-5 years experience in industry or academia in at least one of the three core areas.
• Relevant conference/journal publications or a portfolio of significant open-source/industry projects.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Salary range: $130,000-$170,000. Hybrid team structure with remote work flexibility; new-hire stock option grants, 401(k) with match, comprehensive benefits.
