We are looking for aResearch ScientistMacrophage Immunologywho is collaborative, analytical, and innovative to join ourImmunology Researchteam, based in ourSlough, UK (Windlesham from 2027).

About the role

You will play a key role in increasing the value of the Patient Solutions pre-project portfolio by enabling the discovery and progression of therapeutic molecules. You will generate and analyse in vitro, in vivo and ex vivo data, supporting programs across all stages of research and clinical development. Your work will focus on developing translational assays, exploring mechanisms of action, and identifying novel therapeutic strategies in immunology.

Who you’ll work with

You will be part of the Resolution of Inflammation focus area within Immunology Research. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams, contributing to scientific decision-making and working alongside colleagues across research and clinical development to advance innovative therapies.

What you’ll do

  • Design and conduct in vitro experiments supporting target biology.
  • Generate translational assays, including complex cell culture models.
  • Apply immunology techniques such as coculture, 3D models, and flow cytometry.
  • You will analyse large datasets, including RNA sequencing and proteomics data.
  • Develop and apply data analysis pipelines using Python, SQL, and R.
  • You will interpret results and present findings to diverse audiences.

  • Education to PhD (or equivalent) in immunology or a related scientific field
  • Post‑PhD experience in academia or industry.
  • Strong background in immunology and disease biology.
  • Experience working with high-dimensional datasets and multi-omics data.
  • Demonstrable experience of working in Macrophage biology.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or R for data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
