Job Description

Own the analytical methodology and evaluation rigor behind the Innovation, Data & Analytics team's AI-based workflows, directing model selection, cohort/segmentation science, and agent decision logic in partnership with Engineering and Governance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Methodology & Analytical Direction

  • Own model selection and evaluation frameworks for AI-based workflows
  • Design cohort and customer/HCP segmentation methodology using real world data sources
  • Direct the analytical logic and decisioning behind agentic workflows, ensuring methodological rigor and defensibility
  • Partner with the AI/ML Engineer to translate methodology into production-grade agents and pipelines

Strategic Support & Collaboration

  • Support strategic and tactical planning with regard to medical/analytical priorities
  • Collaborate with the Data Architect/Data Analyst to ensure analytical outputs align with data model and quality standards
  • Communicate generated insights and analytical trade-offs clearly to business and technical stakeholders
  • Proactively identify new data inputs, analytical techniques, and evaluation approaches to improve workflow quality and adoption
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior data scientists and data engineering colleagues

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and oversee the analytical direction of AI-based workflows to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Clinical Informatics, or similar
  • Experience (8+ years with Bachelor's; 7+ with Master's; 5+ with PhD) in data science, notably in the healthcare sector
  • Healthcare/pharma data experience, including claims, EHR, and HEDIS/OMOP frameworks
  • Hands-on experience evaluating and experimenting with LLMs and agentic systems
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and support the professional growth of colleagues
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working in a cross-functional business environment
  • Proven influencing skills and strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport and credibility with Pfizer leaders and key external stakeholders
  • Effective English verbal and written communication with flexibility to be clear, consistent, compliant, and appropriate for a variety of settings including scientific/technical, promotional, patient/consumer, regulatory, and media
  • In-depth understanding of the business of pharmaceutical medicine including clinical trial design, GCP and data interpretation, drug development, regulatory and promotional rules/guidance, legal and compliance, and issue management

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $271,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
