Associate Principal Scientist, Pharma R&D

Tempus seeks a scientist to design and execute research initiatives for biopharmaceutical partners. The role focuses on leveraging real-world clinical data and AI to advance cancer precision medicine.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex real-world data analytical projects with expertise in survival analysis methodologies
• Present technical findings clearly to external stakeholders and clients
• Collaborate with research, engineering, and data science teams on computational solutions
• Integrate LLMs and AI tools into analytical workflows
• Partner with pharmaceutical clients to identify where Tempus platform technology adds value
• Stay current with oncology drug development trends and computational research advancements

Required Qualifications

• PhD plus 5+ years experience OR Master's plus 7+ years in pharmaceutical/analytical roles
• Expert-level proficiency in observational real-world healthcare data
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
• Proficiency in R, Python, and SQL for computational biology
• Deep understanding of cancer biology
• Excellent client communication and presentation skills
• Track record leading RWD studies from conception through publication

Preferred Skills: Machine learning application, clinical trial design experience, claims/EHR data expertise, biomarker analysis, NCCN guideline familiarity, transcriptome/NGS data experience
