Job Description

In collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in London , EMBL-EBI is offering a number of paid internships to students who are working at the Master’s level in computer science, bioinformatics, molecular biology with a strong quantitative component or equivalent background, at Dutch universities.

Who is eligible for the internship programme? We welcome applications from students enrolled in a Dutch Higher Education Institution for a Master’s level programme.

You would need to be receiving student finance (“studiefinanciering”) from the Dutch government for the duration of your internship to be eligible for this scheme. PhD students are not eligible. How to apply? Eligible candidates are invited to apply through our application form . The application deadline is 30th November 2026 .

Candidates should expect to be notified of the outcome of their application by the end of January 2027. Before applying, candidates are expected to get in contact with an EMBL-EBI group leader to discuss possible projects and the duration of the internship (usually in the range of 3 to 6 months).

The best way to proceed is therefore to look at the list of EMBL-EBI research groups and service teams and contact those that pique your interest to see which type of project might be possible and whether they would be interested in hosting you. Please note that we will only accept applications received via the above application form .

Applications received by email will not be taken into consideration. Questions? For any questions or requests for additional information, please contact dutch-embassy-internships@ebi.ac.uk . We will not reply to enquiries outside of the application period.
