Research Scientist II/Senior, Discovery ML

Iambic seeks scientists to join its Discovery ML group, applying advanced machine learning to support drug discovery efforts across multiple therapeutic indications. The role focuses on the company's flagship models, including Enchant, a multimodal transformer for predicting drug-target interactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate ML models for drug-discovery applications
• Collaborate with computational chemists, medicinal chemists, and biologists in design-make-test-analyze cycles
• Generate value from ML models for internal teams and external partners
• Communicate scientific findings to diverse audiences
• Provide domain-driven feedback to improve ML model evolution

Required Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in chemistry/physical science with 3+ years experience (or comparable background)
• Statistical analysis expertise for evaluating and troubleshooting models
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Python programming, statistics, and drug discovery skills

Strongly Preferred

• PhD in computational chemistry or ML in chemistry
• 3+ years drug discovery project experience
