Job Description
Graduate-level co-op focused on evaluating single-cell foundation models for transcriptomics analysis in drug discovery. 6-month program from July–December 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess publicly available single-cell foundation models for cell type annotation and workflow automation
- Build computational frameworks comparing model performance against manual labels
- Execute data preprocessing, quality control, and analysis using Python/R bioinformatics tools
- Work in AWS and HPC environments for large-scale genomics dataset analysis
- Generate visualizations and recommendations for cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with computational scientists to integrate findings into existing workflows
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in Master's or Ph.D. program in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Genomics, Computer Science, or related field
- Familiarity with single-cell genomics packages (Seurat, scanpy)
- Python and/or R experience for scientific data analysis
- AWS, Linux, or HPC cluster environment experience
- Strong analytical and scientific communication skills
- Must work full-time onsite in San Diego (no sponsorship available)
